Student projects
Stella offers monthly “Stella 101” workshops for students writing papers or assignments about sex work. The workshops cover our mission, the history of our organization, our services and our philosophy. We also address myths and realities surrounding sex work, the impacts of stigma and criminalization on sex workers, as well as a brief overview of the laws and a short question period.
Sessions take place at the beginning of the month. If you would like to participate, reserve your spot at education@chezstella.org. We ask for a $5 contribution for each participant.
NB: We do NOT offer individual interviews to students for your papers. You can ask your tailored questions during our group workshop. Furthermore, Stella does not refer students to individual sex workers for interviews. Please look at our pamphlet 14 answers to your questions which is our student awareness resource.
Classes and courses
Our Stella workshops are available in your classroom and via Zoom!
Our standard presentation includes information on Stella’s history, mission and services, as well as the myths and realities surrounding sex work, the impacts of stigmatisation and criminalization on sex workers, as well as a brief overview of the laws and a short question period.
We also offer workshops on the topic of sex work tailored to your course.

Researchers (including Masters and PhD students)
Recruiting and engaging sex workers for research demands careful attention to ethics and protocol. Due to the sheer number of requests we receive to help recruit sex workers for research projects, and because most research benefits researchers before it benefits our community, we are extremely selective when agreeing to work with researchers.
If you are contacting us for these purposes, please send your research description, ethics forms, questionnaires, and other pertinent information to direction@chezstella.org for our research committee to consider.
